Responsibilities
Accurate and timely submission of all required federal, state, and local tax filings
Monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliation of payroll general ledger and tax liability accounts
Organized and complete audit documentation for internal, external, and government reviews
Timely resolution of all tax agency notices and penalties
Updated payroll systems, workflows, and standard operating procedures aligned with current legislation
Accurate preparation and distribution of year end forms including W2s
Qualification
Required
Experience with payroll processing using ADP SmartCompliance, ADP Workforce Now, or similar systems
Workday payroll experience
Strong background in multistate and international payroll tax compliance, reporting, and reconciliation
Experience resolving tax related issues, conducting tax audits, and managing W2 accuracy
Ability to research, interpret, and apply new and changing tax legislation
Experience preparing and filing tax amendments including W2c forms
Skill in identifying process improvements and using technology to increase efficiency and data accuracy
Experience collaborating with cross functional teams within payroll, human resources, accounting, or finance
Bachelor degree in Finance or Accounting, or an associate degree with five or more years of payroll tax experience, or CPP or FPC certification
Preferred
Experience working with large global organizations or technology focused companies
Demonstrated success improving payroll tax processes and systems
Advanced reconciliation skills and familiarity with complex payroll tax environments
