Manufacturing Engineer (Metals)

iLocatum is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer who will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining manufacturing methods and processes. This role involves partnering closely with department supervisors and cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and support production across multiple facilities.

Responsibilities

Support manufacturing using a disciplined problem-solving approach, including:
Fishbone diagrams
6S
Value Stream Mapping
Job Safety Analysis
Lead and support program launches, rework efforts, and continuous improvement initiatives
Evaluate current and future process capabilities and control limits to improve quality and assess incoming work
Identify, document, and implement improvements to reduce cycle time, scrap, and waste
Develop financial justifications for capital equipment and process changes
Conduct time studies, method analysis, and work measurement activities
Utilize computer simulations to analyze processes and recommend production improvements
Serve as a technical resource and provide on-the-job training to employee-owners
Meet performance targets for safety, quality, cost, productivity, and on-time delivery
Create, update, and maintain routings, work instructions, and blueprints aligned with customer specifications and quality standards
Support projects and production across three plants and multiple shifts as needed

Required

Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing, preferably within the metals or industrial manufacturing environment
Hands-on experience applying industrial engineering methods, continuous improvement, and problem-solving tools
Proficiency with SolidWorks or other CAD/CAM software, including GD&T application
Strong technical communication skills with the ability to work across production, engineering, and business teams
Advanced mathematical and mechanical aptitude
Extensive experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint
Willingness to support operations across multiple plants and shifts

Preferred

5+ years of experience in an engineering or technology role within manufacturing or metals industries
Proven success improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
Strong knowledge of quality tools and applicable safety regulations
Experience with: Value Stream Mapping, Time standards, Line balancing, Plant floor layout
Formal training in Lean Manufacturing, Visual Factory, Kanban, Kaizen, and Six Sigma
Materials flow management experience
Experience working with ERP or MRP systems
