Responsibilities
Evaluate facility configurations and layout options to support optimal project performance
Support technology evaluations and contribute to project design basis development
Assist with conceptual engineering and early-stage project design
Monitor equipment supplier technologies and industry developments
Prepare performance estimates, including capacity, efficiency, heat balance, and water usage
Support site identification, screening, and technical due diligence activities
Develop, analyze, and maintain project schedules
Support preparation of technical specifications and coordinate bid processes
Assist with development of capital and operating cost estimates
Prepare technical reports, summaries, and project documentation
Maintain organized, project-specific technical records and deliverables
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering
2–5 years of experience in energy or power sector engineering, design, or operations
Experience supporting natural gas–fueled power generation projects
Exposure to project design, permitting, and/or construction
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
Preferred
5+ years of experience in power sector project engineering
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
Experience supporting projects during the development phase
Hands-on experience with Thermoflow software
Familiarity with bulk electric system interconnection processes
Knowledge of power industry standards, codes, and regulations
Experience using GIS tools
Programming experience with Python or Visual Basic
