Laboratory Operations Manager
bioAffinity Technologies is seeking a Laboratory Operations Manager to oversee the end-to-end operational workflow of diagnostic testing. This role focuses on ensuring operational excellence, compliance execution, and cross-functional coordination to deliver accurate and timely results to clinical partners.
Responsibilities
Oversee receipt, review, tracking and completion of onboarding new clients
Oversee receipt, review, and tracking of test requisitions
Ensure requisitions meet completeness, eligibility, and compliance requirements
Coordinate resolution of missing information with laboratory personnel, clinical sites and sales/client services
Maintain accurate chain-of-custody and sample tracking documentation
Manage operational workflows from sample receipt, accessioning of sample through handoff to technical lab teams
Monitor turnaround times and proactively address bottlenecks or delays
Coordinate daily workload planning with laboratory, QA, and reporting teams
Oversee operational steps supporting result generation, review routing, and release
Ensure timely delivery of results to ordering providers
Coordinate with medical, lab, pathologists, and IT teams to resolve reporting issues
Maintain documentation supporting result accuracy and audit readiness
Ensure operational compliance with CLIA, CAP, HIPAA, and internal quality systems
Support audits, inspections, and internal reviews from an operations perspective
Maintain and improve SOPs related to requisitions, intake, workflow, and reporting
Track and report operational KPIs (TAT, volume, error rates, resubmissions)
Serve as a key operational contact for internal teams (sales, client services, billing, IT, QA)
Support onboarding of new clinical sites from an operational readiness standpoint
Assist with training of internal staff on operational workflows and systems
Provide input into process improvements as test volume scales
Oversee use and optimization of LIS and related operational systems
Identify opportunities to automate, streamline, or standardize workflows
Support scaling of operations as adoption increases
Participate in planning for new indications, specimen types, or workflow expansions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in healthcare operations, laboratory operations, or diagnostics
5+ years of experience in laboratory or diagnostic operations (non-technical)
Experience managing requisitions, sample intake, workflow coordination, and reporting operations
Working knowledge of CLIA, CAP, HIPAA, and regulated laboratory environments
Strong organizational, process-management, and problem-solving skills
Preferred
Experience in diagnostics testing
Familiarity with LIS systems and healthcare documentation workflows
Experience supporting commercialization or scaling of a diagnostic product
Prior experience working with pulmonary or lung cancer diagnostics
