Electrical/Mechanical Technician 1

Pinellas County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller is focused on protecting public health and the environment. They are seeking an Electrical/Mechanical Technician to perform full performance electrical and mechanical maintenance repair activities on reclaim and wastewater treatment equipment, including troubleshooting and repair of various mechanical and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

Perform repairs and maintenance on various types of mechanical equipment related to wastewater treatment facilities, wastewater pump stations and reclaimed water equipment
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment such as pumps, motors, gearboxes, blowers and chemical feed systems
Perform electrical troubleshooting and repair
Perform minor welding and fabrication of equipment
Repair piping and fittings
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on wastewater process equipment, rotating equipment
Generate order request for material procurement
Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System, as a tool for work management
Utilize computer and various software applications to perform job duties and payroll entries
Maintain vehicle and inventory in a ready stat for response
Perform related work as assigned or required

Required

Completion of a two-year technical or vocational program in mechanical skilled or electrical trades in Wastewater Treatment Plant Maintenance; or
Two (2) years of journeyman experience in the maintenance and repair of heavy mechanical equipment and machinery in Wastewater Treatment Plant Maintenance; or
An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
Possession and maintenance of a valid State of Florida Commercial Driver's License B within 1-year of hire with eligibility based upon evaluation of a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) driving report
Assignment to work a variety of work schedules including compulsory work periods in special, emergency, and/or disaster situations
Perform Standby rotation and after-hours call-outs duties required for field operations or emergency events
Participate in mandatory Emergency Response Plan Phase - 1 or Phase - 2 as delineated
