Biostatistician (Independent Contractor)

Plasma Protein Therapeutics Association (PPTA) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Biostatistician to provide analytical and scientific support for research, regulatory, and policy initiatives. The role focuses on driving the Association’s mission to advocate for patient access to plasma-derived medicines and ensuring the quality and safety of plasma collection and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Perform complex data cleaning, validation, statistical analyses, and interpreting results using statistical software
Design and implement statistical analysis plans for epidemiological studies
Assist in the design of study protocols and sample size determinations
Ensure data quality and integrity through the application of rigorous statistical methods
Develop and maintain reproducible code in a statistical software platform to ensure the accuracy and quality of the data
Collaborate with researchers, scientists, and other stakeholders to provide statistical expertise and support for various projects to ensure data integrity and compliance with regulatory standards
Prepare statistical reports, findings, visualizations, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, including manuscripts for publication
Stay updated with the latest advancements in statistical methodologies and software

Required

Bachelor's in Biostatistics, Statistics, or related field
5+ years of experience in clinical research and analysis
Experience with large datasets (e.g. related to health or laboratory data)
Expertise in statistical analysis techniques and methodologies
Proficiency in statistical software (R, SAS, STATA, SPSS or Python)
Working knowledge of epidemiology, study design, and public health
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

Preferred

Master's or Ph.D. in Biostatistics, Statistics, or related field
Understanding of FDA/EMA regulatory requirements in clinical research
Knowledge of data management and data quality assurance procedures
Experience in designing and analyzing experiments and observational studies
Documented publication record in peer-reviewed journals
