Responsibilities
Participate in an on-call rotation, after-hours maintenance, and incident response to ensure continuous network and systems availability
Design, implement, and maintain LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and wireless network infrastructure with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability
Configure, manage, and support Cisco switches, Palo Alto next-generation firewalls (or equivalent), and Meraki wireless platforms
Implement, maintain, and troubleshoot dynamic routing protocols including OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP to ensure efficient and resilient traffic flow
Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement proactive measures to maintain stability and optimize throughput
Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures
Implement and enforce network security policies to protect systems from unauthorized access and cyber threats
Monitor and analyze network security logs and events, investigate incidents, and execute appropriate response actions
Stay current with emerging technologies and champion innovation by translating new solutions into process improvements that enhance efficiency
Support incident, change, and capacity management processes related to network and systems infrastructure
Manage the full lifecycle of operating systems and application software for network and systems infrastructure, including installation, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting
Perform daily system monitoring to verify system integrity and availability, review logs, ensure completion of scheduled jobs, and validate backups
Act as a senior escalation point, providing expert-level support for complex networking and systems issues
Travel to other company offices for project or operational needs as required (estimated at less than 5% annually)
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in network design, implementation, maintenance, and documentation
Ability to work onsite five days per week in Dallas, TX
Strong expertise in LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and wireless networking
Hands-on experience with Cisco switches, Palo Alto firewalls (or equivalent next-generation firewalls), and Meraki MS, MR, and MX platforms
In-depth knowledge of routing protocols including OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP
Solid understanding of network security principles and best practices
Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, Python, or similar languages
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and facilitation skills
Strong problem-solving, time management, and project management capabilities
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred
Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent cloud networking certifications are highly preferred
Experience with Office 365 administration, Entra ID, Azure, SCCM, AWS, SQL administration, VMware infrastructure, and Microsoft Windows Server is preferred
Experience with web server administration (IIS, Apache, Tomcat) is a plus
