Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance to application development teams
Design, develop, and support complex Java/JEE enterprise applications
Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical designs
Develop and review software architecture and design documents
Design, develop, and maintain RESTful web services and web-based applications
Ensure alignment of application architecture with enterprise and state standards
Participate in full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment
Prepare and maintain technology roadmaps for supported applications
Review application designs and code to ensure quality, scalability, security, and performance
Tune SQL queries and troubleshoot performance and data issues using SQL and PL/SQL
Support application modernization initiatives and system integrations
Develop prototypes, mockups, and technical documentation for stakeholder review
Work in large-scale Agile environments and support test-driven development practices
Integrate software components into fully functional enterprise systems
Qualification
Required
12+ years of experience architecting, designing, and developing complex computer systems using Java technologies
12+ years reviewing technical designs to ensure adherence to enterprise architecture standards
10+ years developing enterprise systems using Java IDEs such as Eclipse and STS
8+ years programming with Java JEE, Spring, and Spring Boot (3.0) frameworks
8+ years of development using Hibernate / JPA frameworks
5+ years developing applications using Angular or React JS and JavaScript frameworks
10+ years designing and reviewing logical and physical data models using SQL and/or PL/SQL
Strong experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL databases
Proven experience migrating data from Oracle to PostgreSQL
Expertise in SQL tuning, scripting, and troubleshooting
5+ years of experience in JBOSS Enterprise SOA and containerized DevOps environments
3+ years of experience or knowledge creating CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
5+ years of cloud technology experience, preferably AWS
Experience with AWS services including S3, EC2, VPC, Lambda, MSK, OpenShift (ROSA), EKS, or ECS Fargate
Experience analyzing AWS pricing models, right-sizing resources, and implementing cost optimization strategies
Hands-on experience with Apache Tomcat, JBOSS, OpenShift, and container platforms
Extensive experience with Git and source control tools
Hands-on expertise with Databricks
Experience with Java 8, SOAP, RESTful Web Services, Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring Batch, and Spring Security
5+ years working with CMM/CMMI Level 3 methods and practices
5+ years implementing Agile development methodologies, including Test-Driven Development (TDD)
Experience working on large-scale Agile projects
Preferred
Familiarity with Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, and ActiveMQ
Knowledge of Kubernetes concepts including Pods, Deployments, Services, and Persistent Volumes
Experience with SEM/SUITE compliance
Exposure to Elastic agents and monitoring tools
Experience creating flowcharts, screen layouts, and technical documentation
