Responsibilities
Write and edit original content for digital platforms and broadcast newscasts
Support newsroom journalists by strengthening digital and social storytelling
Write effective digital headlines and summaries optimized for SEO and social engagement
Curate and prioritize daily newsletter content
Clip and edit video from newscasts for use in digital stories
Write, schedule, and publish social media posts across platforms
Monitor news feeds and social platforms to identify and respond to breaking news
Execute social media and SEO strategies to grow and engage digital audiences
Edit sensitive or breaking news content for clarity, accuracy, fairness, and legality
Send breaking news alerts as needed
Qualification
Required
Strong writing skills with a solid understanding of AP style
Sound news judgment and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks under deadline in a fast-paced newsroom
Strong working knowledge of major social media platforms
Familiarity with social media analytics; SEO experience preferred
Education: Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field preferred
Experience: 1–2 years of digital publishing or newsroom experience
Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft applications and Windows-based systems
