Environmental Science Intern - Summer 2026
WSP USA is hosting a summer internship program for students to gain hands-on experience in Environmental Science. The intern will support various tasks, learn fundamental principles, and assist with project research and compliance documentation.

Responsibilities
Support a variety of Environmental Science tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills
Learn basic principles of Environmental Science and multiphase environmental systems
Assist with project research, field work, and technical report writing for a variety of federal and state compliance projects
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs
Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation, such as project notes, field notes, meeting minutes, quality control documentation, and standard operating procedures
Complete training on assigned tasks
Qualification
Required
Actively enrolled in an accredited Environmental Science, Biology, or related Undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2026 or later
Must be 18 or older
Demonstrated interest in Environmental Science, Biology, multiphase environmental systems or related field, and have a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP's work and projects
Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience
Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to executive projects
Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools
Able to lift up to 25 pounds
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship
Preferred
Actively enrolled in an accredited Environmental Science, Biology or related Masters or PhD program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2026 or later
Completed OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training
Prior internship and leadership involvement on campus
