3+ years expLHH is seeking to hire an Embedded Software Engineer responsible for building embedded firmware and edge software for real‑world, high‑reliability devices. You’ll work across embedded Linux and bare‑metal/RTOS, integrate with edge gateways and cloud analytics, and ship features used at scale.

Responsibilities
Design, implement, and ship embedded firmware for Linux and bare‑metal/RTOS targets (ARM/STM32 or similar)
Develop device applications and Python tools for diagnostics, data capture, and validation
Bring up boards and peripherals; write/maintain drivers and BSP components; work with U‑Boot and Yocto (or similar build systems)
Implement secure connectivity with BLE, Wi‑Fi, Zigbee/802.15.4, and IoT protocols (MQTT, REST, WebSockets)
Integrate with edge gateways (Docker/containers, device‑management, OTA updates) and support data flows to Azure/GCP analytics/ML services
Optimize for low power, performance, and reliability; perform hands‑on debug and root‑cause analysis using oscilloscopes/logic analyzers
Contribute clear architecture/design docs, participate in design reviews, and collaborate with QA on test strategies and release readiness
Qualification
Required
BS/MS in EE/CS (or related) and 3–5+ years in embedded software/firmware
Strong C for embedded; practical Python for tooling/automation
Experience with embedded Linux (kernel/drivers, bootloaders such as U‑Boot) and Yocto (or Buildroot/OpenEmbedded)
Peripheral interfaces: I²C, SPI, UART, USB, GPIO; wireless: BLE/Wi‑Fi/Zigbee
Proven board bring‑up, device driver work, and lab debug (scope, logic analyzer)
Ability to optimize for battery/low‑power systems and write production‑grade, testable code
Preferred
Edge gateway development on ARM/Intel SBCs; Docker at the edge; fleet OTA/device‑management
IoT device‑to‑cloud architectures (Azure IoT, GCP), telemetry, and secure boot
Experience with sensor fusion, computer vision, or on‑device ML/edge AI
