Responsibilities

Assist in the planning and execution of the Annual Symposium for Multicultural Scholars, including logistics, speaker coordination, assessment strategies, and participant engagement
Develop and assist in the planning of the annual Cultural Immersion Trip, ensuring a meaningful and educational experience for students
Contribute to the planning of the Celebrating Cultures & Community initiative, developing programming that fosters engagement of all members of our NC State Community
Assist with the Peer Mentor and Professional Development (ProDevo) Series Curricular Development, designing engaging content that enhances student leadership and career readiness
Participate in tabling for Summer Orientation, providing information and resources to incoming students about the department
Support the facilitation of Summer Start Programs to help students transition successfully into the institution
Assist in creating engaging social media posts, stories, and visual content tailored to each platform’s audience

Required

Currently enrolled in a graduate program (Fall 2026), preferably in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Social Sciences, or a related field
Graduate School enrollment (Full-time/Part-Time) can be at any University
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability to engage and lead in Student Success activities
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Passion for student development, student success, and experiential learning
Earned Bachelor's degree in any field
Knowledge of challenges facing students from a variety of backgrounds and its impacts on specifically first-generation college students
Demonstrated leadership experience in a higher educational setting
Demonstrate awareness of student success, community building & belonging strategies and campus resources
Ability to appropriately handle confidential information and follow requirements of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
Demonstrate strong communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail
Strong ability to balance multiple responsibilities in time management across academics, graduate assistantships, and professional/personal growth
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed

Preferred

Experience in event planning, student engagement, or curriculum development is a plus
Demonstrated Experience in a public speaking role, developing presentations, or tabling on behalf of an organization
Experience with research or assessment methods
Previous experience in working with student leaders and students in a college setting
Previous experience in program or event planning
