Responsibilities

Product Development & Optimization: Assist in the development of new food products and the improvement of existing recipes to enhance flavor, texture, and shelf-life
Quality Assurance & Testing: Perform standardized qualitative and quantitative tests to determine physical or chemical properties of food products (e.g., pH, viscosity, moisture, and sensory analysis)
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all products and processes adhere to FDA, USDA, and local health regulations, including the maintenance of accurate HACCP and GMP documentation
Production Support: Monitor large-scale production runs to ensure formulas are followed precisely and troubleshoot any deviations in product consistency
Supplier & Ingredient Management: Evaluate raw materials and ingredients from suppliers to ensure they meet internal quality specifications
Lab Maintenance: Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure precise measurements and a sterile working environment
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Production, Marketing, and Quality Control departments to transition products from the benchtop to the manufacturing floor

Required

Bachelors Degree required, preferably in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related scientific field
0–3 years of experience in a food manufacturing or laboratory environment (internship experience in food production is highly valued)
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary team
Working knowledge of GFSI standards (SQF or BRC) and HACCP principles
Proficiency in sensory evaluation (taste, smell, and texture analysis)
Must be comfortable working in both a laboratory setting and a fast-paced production floor environment
