Research Technician

The Research Technician will support the Chong Research Laboratory, performing lab maintenance and research related to intrinsically disordered proteins under the supervision of Professor Shasha Chong.

Responsibilities
Maintain laboratory organization, order reagents and supplies, and clean the common lab space
Generate various common laboratory reagents (e.g., buffers, bacterial culture plates, competent cells)
Help with research projects under the supervision of Professor Chong and/or other group members using techniques including molecular cloning, tissue culture, and fluorescence microscopy
A highly motivated and qualified candidate may develop independent research projects under the supervision of Professor Chong
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in science, with an educational emphasis in chemistry, biology, or a related field
Ability to perform work in a neat and orderly manner, to work as part of a team, and to learn new lab skills related to biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, and microscopy
Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, and interpersonal skills

Previous lab experience with molecular biology techniques and mammalian cell culture is preferred
