Responsibilities
Provide hands-on power supply design support using company products
Act as a technical advisor to customers, supporting design-in and optimization efforts
Analyze customer technical issues and recommend effective solutions
Perform design reviews including schematics, PCB layouts, magnetics, and performance data
Advise on component selection to achieve best-in-class power, efficiency, EMI, and reliability
Support the sales team with customer visits, technical presentations, and product training
Conduct bench-level testing and troubleshooting of high-frequency switching power supplies
Assist with trade shows, seminars, and technical workshops
Document designs, test results, and application notes as needed
Qualification
Required
BSEE required (MSEE preferred) or equivalent experience
5+ years of experience in a Field Applications Engineer, Sales Engineer, or Applications Engineer role
Strong hands-on experience with AC-DC power conversion and SMPS design
Experience with common power supply topologies (Buck, Boost, Buck-Boost, Flyback, etc.)
Demonstrated magnetics design experience (transformers, inductors)
Proficiency using simulation and analysis tools (e.g., LTspice, SIMPLIS, MATLAB, Excel)
Strong laboratory skills with oscilloscopes, power analyzers, and EMI test equipment
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to customers
Preferred
Prior FAE experience supporting semiconductor power products
Knowledge of EMI and safety standards
Experience supporting industries such as UPS, industrial controls, appliances, chargers, lighting, or computing
Firmware exposure using C/C++ for embedded power applications
