Responsibilities

The electrician follows prescribed safety procedures
The electrician completes a thorough information handoff with the electrician on the previous shift and then checks the work order system to see what tasks must be done. The electrician then determines the priority of work to be done
The electrician wears the plant radio and carries the electrician smart phone at all times. He or she responds to radio calls but requires a work order be submitted for each task requested
The electrician checks the work order system periodically during his shift
The electrician has the following daily responsibilities:
Respond to the work order system
Check for ground indicators on switchgears
Tag failed motors and electronics with all the pertinent information and place them in the proper area for repair
Complete daily routine tasks such as checking compressed air dryers and boilers
Order parts as needed
Check motors on air compressors and dryers
Repair and change ballast and lamp holders on light fixtures
Check motor amperage as needed
Check all outside lighting
Check/clean switchgear room daily
The electrician has the following as-needed responsibilities:
Add special switch devices and circuits on production machines as approved by the ESM
Work on lighting work orders as they are submitted
Assist in checking fire protection system on machinery
Check grounds on electrical motors
Perform cleaning tasks on equipment and panels as assigned
Perform any other duties assigned by the Engineering Services Manager or the Engineering Services Engineer
Qualified and trained technicians will perform various environmental duties consistent with their training and abilities as assigned by the Engineering Services Leader
The electrician is authorized to shutdown any equipment under his/her control for the following reasons:
Any safety hazard
Abnormal noises or smells
Unusual vibration
Any electrical malfunction
Any other quality related problem
