Electrical/Electronic Design Engineer
SoloPoint Solutions is a company based in Wisconsin seeking an Electrical/Electronic Design Engineer. The role involves designing and implementing products for harsh environments, managing multiple product designs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure quality and performance objectives are met.
Responsibilities
Design and implement for harsh environments with stringent EMI/BCI requirements
Develop moderately complex product concepts in response to customer inquiries, sales requests, and RFQs
Represent the Electrical Engineering function within cross-functional teams (CFTs) to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and timing of proposed concepts
Translate design concepts into manufacturable, high-quality products that meet performance and cost objectives
Lead/participate in DFMEA, DFM/DFA, concept design reviews, and critical design reviews
Integrate optimized manufacturing processes into product concepts and designs
Diagnose and resolve complex circuit issues and provide effective countermeasures for customer system problems
Serve as a technical liaison with customers and suppliers to address design, performance, and quality issues
Oversee the completion of all engineering deliverables for New Product Development (NPD) projects, escalating issues when necessary
Mentor and guide junior engineers
Develop and improve engineering design standards, best practices, tolerances, testing, etc
Build 1–2 areas of specialized technical expertise aligned with company product lines or technologies
Apply effective problem solving as part of NPS or other systemic issues
Qualification
Required
Education: BSEE or BSEET
at least ~3-5 years of relevant and progressive experience or relevant industry experience
Experience in Altium/Altium Designer OR PADs software
Electrical design aptitude and ability / desire to be hands on in all aspects of the job
Ability to utilize schematic capture and PCB layout applications to create and verify designs
Electronic circuit design aptitude
Knowledge of serial communication protocols, or other serial types of integrated firmware (CAN/CAN bus preferred)
Understand phase gate NPD processes
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects
