General Medicine is a company focused on simplifying healthcare shopping. They are seeking a mobile engineer to build their first native mobile app using React Native, responsible for architectural decisions and collaborating with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Help build and scale a healthcare store that makes it delightfully simple to shop for any type of care
Build our first native mobile app using React Native
Make key architectural decisions and set patterns for the team
Ship and maintain React Native apps in production
Drop into Swift or Kotlin when needed for integrations and notifications
Work on our Next.js web frontend
Write product requirements documents and SQL to understand feature performance
Own QA and help deliver a great product
Operate in an environment of significant ambiguity and work closely with design, operations, and clinical stakeholders
Qualification
Required
3+ years of experience building mobile apps, with meaningful production experience in React Native
Strong understanding of native iOS and/or Android development (Swift, Kotlin) — you don't need to be an expert in both, but you should be comfortable with either
Experience with Expo, including build tooling, OTA updates, and native module configuration
Proficiency with TypeScript and React
Experience architecting shared code between mobile and web codebases (or a strong opinion on how to do it well)
Familiarity with modern backend frameworks is a plus — we use Ruby on Rails and Postgres
