Responsibilities

Plans, schedules, develops, and coordinates the programs, as well as, supervises program participants on site under the direction of the Recreation Coordinator and Recreation Supervisor
Assists with scheduling, supervising, and training of program staff
Secures and accommodates guest speakers/volunteers and handles arrangements for field trips, swimming, and daily activities

Required

Minimum of 21 years of age
A High school diploma or G.E.D
Any combination of education and experience which would provide the applicant with the desired knowledge, skills, and ability required to perform the job
Must pass a thorough City background investigation
Must maintain a level of physical and mental fitness necessary to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without a reasonable accommodation
Must be attentive to job safety considerations and follows all required safety policies, procedures and techniques
Must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver's license and a driving record acceptable to the City and the City's insurance carrier OR must be able to provide own transportation to and from job, meetings, and related job sites
Verification of identity and United States work authorization must be completed as required by the Immigration Reform and Control Act
Must possess valid First Aid and CPR certifications, OR the ability to obtain before the program begins
Must possess a valid Food Handler's certification, OR the ability to obtain before the program begins

Preferred

An educational background in recreation, education, and/or child development
One (1) year experience in planning, programming, and supervising recreational and/or educational activities for children in a school, camp, or recreational setting
