The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) enriches the environment and protects public health for all New Yorkers. They are seeking an App Development Graduate Intern to collaborate with the development team, assist in troubleshooting technical issues, and propose improvements and new features for applications.

Responsibilities
Collaborate with the development team to design, develop, and test application features
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
Self-learn new technologies and programming languages, if needed, in order to accomplish assigned tasks
Take initiative to propose improvements and new features
Develop a final presentation to display assignments they have been involved with while working as an intern at the DEP Interns Closing Ceremony
Qualification
Required
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a graduate degree program in an accredited college, university or law school
Preferred
Student must currently be enrolled at a college/university at the Graduate level with a focus in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or a related field
Student must have at least a 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale)
Familiarity with one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C++)
Dedicated, reliable, and willing to go the extra mile
Proactive in researching and self-learning new technologies, but also know when to ask for help from others
Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate effectively
Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to articulate ideas clearly and concisely
