Responsibilities
Maintain a direct approach to software design, architecture, and coding standards to ensure the highest quality and scalability of our developer tool suite
Represent Google Cloud as an industry leader in generative AI development, contributing to conferences, publications, and open-source initiatives
Attract, mentor, and develop engineering talent, creating a high-performing and motivated team
Act as an advocate for developers, understanding their needs and ensuring that the Vertex AI Developer Experience Team delivers solutions that delight and empower users
Ensure the team maintains high standards of technical excellence, scalability, and reliability in all aspects of software development
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, similar degree/field or equivalent practical experience
20 years of experience in software engineering leadership roles
15 years of experience with conversational agents and generative AI concepts (e.g., LLMs, fine tuning, distillation, function calling and orchestration etc.), development workflows, and use cases
10 years of experience leading and managing engineering teams, with experience in project delivery
Preferred
Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Mining, Information Systems, or related disciplines
15 years of experience in cloud-based development with Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar ML frameworks. Experience with MLOps
Experience in applying AI solutions and ML-related technologies to solve real-world AI/ML problems in consumer or enterprise applications
Experience with active participation in the AI/ML open-source community or relevant industry consortia
A visionary mindset with the ability to identify emerging trends in AI and developer tools, and translate them into actionable strategies
