2026-BWT-011-JOC/TOC Programs Intern
The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) enriches the environment and protects public health for all New Yorkers. The summer intern will conduct preliminary project analysis and assist with various non-administrative duties related to design and construction projects under supervision.

Responsibilities
Conduct preliminary project analysis under the supervision of a project manager
Organizing and archiving contract documents for capital and in-house contracts in the bureau’s digital SharePoint repository
Develop a final presentation to display assignments they have been involved with while working as an intern at the DEP Interns Closing Ceremony
Qualification
Required
As of June of the Program year the prospective intern must be a student matriculated in a college or be a recent college graduate (winter/spring term of the Program year)
Preferred
Student must currently be enrolled at a college/university at the undergraduate level majoring in mechanical, civil, electrical or environmental engineering
Student must have at least a 2.5 GPA (on a 4.0 scale)
Student must have at least a junior class standing
Strong writing skills
Effective interpersonal skills
Familiarity and/or experience with computers/software
Leadership skills
Self-motivation and ability to work well with minimal supervision
