Project Manager - General Contractor
Michael Page is a leading recruitment agency, and they are seeking a Project Manager for a well-established General Contractor in Ohio. The Project Manager will lead construction projects, ensuring safety, financial health, and effective subcontractor management while promoting a positive work environment and community engagement.

Responsibilities
Provide project leadership and establish, implement and support a proactive project safety culture
Quick turnaround projects on the pipeline, most of them $11 Mil and under
Manage the development and review of bid packages to procure competitive subcontract proposals
Manage job-site subcontractor meetings to ensure that the project goals are met
Review monthly invoices and oversees documentation and approval needed to ensure timely funding for the project
Lead the management of cost reporting including but not limited to contracts, purchase orders, and scope revisions to achieve defined project goals
Ensure overall financial health of the project and project forecasts
Represent our client in the subcontract negotiations
Qualification
Required
Demonstrated ability to manage all phases of construction, from preconstruction planning through project closeout
Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, cost tracking, forecasting, and value engineering
Proven ability to lead subcontractor procurement, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships
Proficiency with construction management software platforms (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, Primavera, or similar)
Strong understanding of project scheduling, critical path method (CPM), and sequencing of work activities
Ability to recognize and mitigate project risks related to safety, budget, schedule, and design
Experience managing RFI processes, submittals, change orders, and other project documentation
Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor, coach, and support field staff, engineers, and assistant PMs
Ability to conduct site walks, assess progress, and ensure quality standards are upheld
Excellent problem‑solving skills with the ability to make timely, informed decisions under pressure
Familiarity with local building codes, permitting processes, inspection requirements, and regulatory compliance
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage documentation, meeting minutes, and reporting with accuracy
Ability to maintain positive, professional relationships with clients, architects, engineers, inspectors, and team members
High degree of accountability with a commitment to ownership of project outcomes
Strong attention to detail, particularly in reviewing drawings, specifications, and contract scopes
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and lead multiple projects or phases simultaneously
Commitment to fostering a strong jobsite safety culture and enforcing OSHA standards
Reliable transportation and flexibility to travel between job sites as needed
Preferred
Professional certifications (OSHA 30, PMP, CCM, LEED AP) considered a strong plus
