2026-BWT-006-Contractor Maintenance Division Intern
The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is dedicated to enriching the environment and protecting public health for New Yorkers. They are seeking a Contractor Maintenance Division Intern to assist engineers with basic engineering tasks and various administrative duties related to service contracts during the summer internship program.
Environmental Services
Responsibilities
Conduct basic engineering tasks under supervision
Assist engineers in the preparation of contract specifications and cost estimates
Review and approve payment requests
Review field reports for each work order
Manage records
Develop a final presentation for the DEP Interns Closing Ceremony
Qualification
Required
As of June of the Program year the prospective intern must be a student matriculated in a college or be a recent college graduate (winter/spring term of the Program year)
Student must currently be enrolled at a college/university at the undergraduate level majoring in Electrical Engineering
Student must have at least a 2.5GPA (on a 4.0 scale)
Student must have at least a junior class standing

Effective interpersonal skills
Familiarity and/or experience with computers/software
Leadership skills
Self-motivation and ability to work well with minimal supervision
