Responsibilities
Lead architecture, design, and modernization initiatives for IBM i / AS400 applications
Mentor technical teams, review design documents, and ensure high-quality delivery
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, business teams, and client leadership
Provide solution guidance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance
Oversee integration of AS400 systems with Java, .NET, Web, or Cloud platforms
Qualification
Required
15+ Years of experience
Expert-level proficiency in: SYNON, RPG, ILE/RPG, SQL RPG/RPGLE, CL/CLLE
Strong experience with: DB2/400, MQ, REST/SOAP APIs, JSON, XML, FTP/SFTP
Hands-on debugging, profiling, and performance tuning
Experience with modernization tools and strategies
Familiarity with change/version control tools: Aldon, TurnOver, Git
Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum, DevOps methodologies
Client-facing leadership experience with excellent communication skills
Preferred
Experience guiding large modernization programs
Ability to evaluate and recommend architectural improvements
Strong documentation and stakeholder management skills
