Translate product goals into a clear, executable technical roadmap
Manage the infrastructure budget, focusing on optimizing GPU utilization and inference costs as we scale

Extensive work with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX, focusing on computer vision and multi-modal architectures like SlowFast, TimeSformer, or VideoMAE
Hands-on implementation of Vision Transformers (ViT) and state-of-the-art object detection (YOLOv10+, Faster R-CNN)
Experience with zero-shot and multimodal models (CLIP, Align) for automated tagging and search
Proficiency in GPU-accelerated libraries like NVIDIA CV-CUDA, DALI, and the Video Codec SDK to remove bottlenecks in frame preprocessing
Knowledge of model quantization and optimization (TensorRT, ONNX, TVM) to reduce latency and inference costs
Experience with distributed video processing engines using Spark (PySpark) or Flink for real-time stream analysis
High-volume ingestion mastery using Kafka, Redpanda, or RabbitMQ to manage incoming data
Expert-level FFmpeg skills including custom filter development and hardware-accelerated transcoding
Experience with vector databases (Pinecone, Milvus, Qdrant) for high-dimensional similarity searches in video embeddings
Management of large-scale data lakes (S3, LakeFS) and versioning tools like DVC to track massive datasets
Hands-on use of MLOps orchestration tools like Kubeflow, MLflow, or Weights & Biases for experiment tracking and model registries
Building robust microservices with Go, Python (FastAPI), or Rust for low-latency API responses
Container orchestration via Kubernetes (K8s) specifically focusing on auto-scaling GPU clusters
Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi) for multi-cloud or hybrid cloud deployments (AWS, GCP, or specialized GPU providers like Lambda/CoreWeave)
Implementation of observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Arize Phoenix) for both system health and ML model drift monitoring
A track record of scaling platforms to millions of monthly active users
8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a high-stakes leadership role
Strong background in a startup environment where you've had to build from scratch
Ability to jump into the codebase and solve complex bottlenecks alongside the team
A product-first mindset that prioritizes user experience over technical perfectionism
