Responsibilities
Develop and run full-system CFD models focused on CHT and thermal-fluid behavior
Perform geometry cleanup, meshing, and surface preparation using ANSA and STAR-CCM+
Build, calibrate, and validate models using test data and reference benchmarks
Execute simulations in STAR-CCM+, Fluent, and OpenFOAM, balancing accuracy and computational efficiency
Conduct parametric studies, sensitivity analyses, and design optimization
Create automation and scripting tools (Python, Java, macros) to speed up model setup and post-processing
Partner with design, test, and systems teams to translate simulation results into actionable design guidance
Clearly document simulation methodologies, assumptions, and validation results
Qualification
Required
3+ years of hands-on CFD experience, with a strong focus on CHT and thermal-fluid coupling
Strong proficiency in STAR-CCM+; working knowledge of ANSYS Fluent and OpenFOAM
Solid experience with ANSA for geometry preparation and meshing (CATIA exposure is a plus)
Strong understanding of heat transfer fundamentals —conduction, convection, and radiation
Experience with heat-transfer-driven CFD modeling, ideally within automotive or complex mechanical systems
Working knowledge of Python, Bash, or Java macros for simulation automation
Familiarity with HPC environments, parallel computing, and GPU acceleration (NVIDIA A100/H100)
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
Preferred
Experience with DOE, parametric studies, and optimization frameworks
Exposure to CAD tools such as CATIA or SolidWorks
Knowledge of post-processing and visualization tools (ParaView, Ensight, Tecplot)
Strong analytical thinking with the ability to clearly communicate technical insights
