Data Center Chief Engineer, ADC, InfraOps DCEO

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a highly motivated Chief Engineer to join their Data Center Engineering Operations Team. The Chief Engineer is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment in the data center, while also managing projects and providing training to the engineering operations technicians.

Responsibilities

Oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in a data center
Operate independently with limited direct management
Act as an escalation point for all facilities-related issues within the data center, escalating to the Data Centre Facility Manager as needed
Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures
Troubleshoot and report of facility and data sever-level events within internal SLA
Create and deploy new standard practices for EOTs, CEs, and vendor support teams
Provide training and guidance to EOTs
Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to by vendor and Amazon staff
Communicate complex technical information to a non-technical audience
Work cross-functionally across teams to effect cluster-wide performance improvement with our internal and external partners by designing and implementing processes, metrics, and programs that enhance the end to end employee experience
Collaborate effectively across teams to define strategy, goals, and obtain commitment to timelines and deliverables

Required

3+ years of vendor management experience
4+ years of relevant work in a data center or other critical environment experience
5+ years of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel experience
Must be a US Citizen
Must obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph

Preferred

3+ years of construction or project management experience
Electrical or mechanical Journeyman License
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
