Manufacturing Engineer
EPITEC is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer specializing in Die Engineering and Die Process development. The role involves driving manufacturability and feasibility of stamped panels throughout the product development lifecycle and leading stamping process development using advanced CAD/CAE tools.
Responsibilities
Champion the •Voice of Manufacturing• to ensure robust, feasible, and cost‑effective stamped panel designs
Conduct early stamping process feasibility evaluations in a CAD/CAE environment
Coordinate product and manufacturing teams to resolve stamping feasibility concerns
Lead creation of draw die CAD developments and construction release files for new model stampings
Update and maintain existing stamping die process information, including improvements and modified part releases
Develop optimized stamping die processes for new model parts, supporting cost, quality, and timing objectives
Lead creation of PFMEAs for new model stampings
Participate in cost requests and evaluate engineering proposals for new model programs
Perform stamping simulations for comprehensive formability and dimensional assessments
Optimize draw and line die processes; refine product and process designs to meet stamping quality standards
Support die design and tooling issue resolution through construction and tryout phases
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
3+ years of manufacturing experience: Die Process, CAD Draw Development, Die Design, Die Construction, and/or Tryout
Experience with stamping and machining processes
Ability to perform early stamping feasibility evaluations in integrated CAD/CAE environments
Proficient in simulation of stamping processes for formability and dimensional analysis
Fluent in at least one stamping simulation software (Dyna, Autoform, or ESI PamStamp)
Practical CAD experience; CATIA V5 and TeamCenter preferred
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to support die design sections

Tool & Die Journeyman's Card
5+ years of automotive manufacturing experience
Ability to support die tryout and diagnose stamping dimensional errors and corrections
Highly motivated self‑starter who can deliver objectives with minimal supervision
Experience planning, implementing, and launching manufacturing systems
Proficiency in GD&T, part fixturing, holding datums, and tolerance stack‑ups
