Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy highway and civil construction projects
Perform quantity take-offs from construction drawings and specifications
Review plans, scopes of work, and Louisiana state & federal bid requirements
Solicit and analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes
Develop full estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and overhead
Support bid strategy and assist leadership with go/no-go decisions
Collaborate with Project Managers on project financial planning and execution
Maintain estimating databases, vendor lists, and cost history
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
10+ years of Heavy Highway Construction estimation experience
Strong background in concrete paving, site work, underground utilities, drainage, sewer & water
Proficiency with HCSS HeavyBid and Primavera P6
Working knowledge of AutoCAD for plan review and take-offs
Excellent contract interpretation and plan reading skills
Strong communication, leadership, and team collaboration abilities
Stable work history and in-office availability (5 days/week)
Preferred
Field experience in civil or highway construction
Established relationships with Louisiana subcontractors and suppliers
Experience bidding DOTD and municipal projects
