SAP Enterprise Architect

Responsibilities

Serve as the global solution architect and design authority for SAP ECC FI, including GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, Bank Accounting, Tax, and Financial Close
Define, govern, and evolve global finance architecture standards, templates, and best practices
Ensure end-to-end architectural alignment across FI integrations with CO, MM, SD, FSCM, Treasury, and external systems
Drive simplification, standardization, and reduction of technical debt across the FI landscape
Lead global SAP FI CoE L2/L3 support operations across regions
Own incident, problem, and change management processes for FI-related issues
Perform root cause analysis on recurring issues and implement permanent solutions
Ensure SLA adherence, service quality, and continuous service improvement
Review and approve transports, configuration changes, and production fixes
Lead SAP FI workstreams across major initiatives, including:
ECC rollouts and global template deployments
Mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures
Legal entity carve-outs
Enhancements, EHP upgrades, and interface changes
Own fit-gap analysis, solution design, functional specifications, and testing strategies
Guide FI data migration, cutover planning, go-live execution, and stabilization
Ensure smooth transition from project delivery into CoE support, including hypercare
Ensure robust and compliant period-end and year-end close processes
Support statutory, management, and regulatory reporting requirements
Ensure compliance with SOX, audit standards, and internal control frameworks
Partner closely with internal and external audit teams to address findings and improvements
Act as the primary SAP FI subject matter expert for Finance leadership, Controllers, and Shared Services teams
Translate complex business requirements into scalable, sustainable SAP solutions
Manage system integrators and AMS partners, ensuring delivery quality and adherence to standards
Provide advisory and thought leadership support to senior business and IT stakeholders
Mentor and develop SAP FI consultants within the CoE
Review and approve solution designs, configurations, and functional documentation
Build succession plans and ensure knowledge continuity within the FI team
Drive consistent documentation standards and creation of reusable assets

Qualification

Required

Deep hands-on SAP ECC FI experience across: General Ledger (New GL preferred), Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Bank Accounting and Cash Management, Tax configuration and integration
Strong integration knowledge with MM (P2P), SD (O2C), FSCM, Intercompany, and Treasury
Proven ECC configuration and solution design experience (not support-only)
Experience working with IDocs, interfaces, and third-party system integrations
Strong understanding of FI tables, data structures, and financial data flows
Ability to debug issues and partner effectively with ABAP and technical teams
Experience supporting EHP upgrades and functional enhancements
10–18+ years of SAP experience, including 8+ years specializing in SAP FI
Prior experience as an SAP FI Lead or Architect within a CoE or global support model
Experience supporting complex, multi-country and multi-entity finance environments
Strong familiarity with ITIL-based service management processes
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Excellent communication skills with executive-level presence
Ability to balance operational support and transformational initiatives concurrently
Ownership mindset with accountability for outcomes and quality

Preferred

Exposure to S/4HANA Finance or ECC-to-S/4 readiness initiatives
Experience in manufacturing or highly complex global enterprises
Involvement in carve-out programs, M&A integrations, or S/4 conversion projects
