Journeyman Service Tech

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues in commercial buildings, including lighting, power distribution, controls, and equipment
Perform repairs, maintenance, and upgrades on existing electrical systems
Install new wiring, fixtures, panels, and equipment as needed during service work
Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections to ensure system reliability
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams
Ensure all work complies with NEC, OSHA safety standards, and Texas state regulations
Provide excellent customer service, communicating clearly with clients about issues and solutions
Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
Occasionally assist with emergency/on-call service rotations

Required

Current Texas Journeyman Electrician license (issued by TDLR)
Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in troubleshooting and repair within commercial environments (e.g., offices, retail, industrial facilities)
Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems, including 3-phase power, motors, controls, and PLC basics preferred
Proficiency with tools and testing equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.)
Valid Texas driver's license with a clean driving record
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or in a team
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in various conditions

Preferred

Experience with service vans and managing service calls
OSHA 10 or 30 certification
Familiarity with energy-efficient systems or renewable integrations
