Information Technology Administrator
U.S. Waterways Transportation LLC is a company that manages marine operating companies, focusing on risk management and operational efficiency. Responsibilities
Provide daily technical support to office and mariner staff, ensuring minimal downtime and timely issue resolution
Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving Windows PCs, mobile devices, Microsoft 365, networking, and vessel or office-based software / hardware
Monitor network systems, apply security updates, and assist in regular maintenance cycles
Support vessel connectivity via Cradlepoint, Ubiquiti, and other network hardware
Participate in after-hours on-call rotation to assist with critical vessel support needs
Support deployment and maintenance of business applications, including Microsoft 365 suite, TowWorks, SBA/Helm, and other necessary applications
Coordinate with software vendors for updates, licensing, and minor customizations
Document and improve existing workflows, identifying automation opportunities
Assist in executing USCG-mandated cybersecurity plans and training for each vessel
Support vulnerability assessments, patching, and incident documentation
Maintain asset security and adherence to IT compliance standards
Maintain organized documentation for all systems, configurations, and SOPs
Provide clear communication to mariners and staff on IT changes or best practices
Collaborate with internal teams to identify technological improvements that streamline operations
Qualification
Required
5+ years of IT support and or systems administration experience
Proficiency with Windows 11, Windows Server VM hosted in Azure, and Microsoft 365 administration
Familiarity with IT troubleshooting, Azure AD, SharePoint Online, and networking (TCP/IP, routers, switches, Wi-Fi)
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and in field environments (vessels, shipyards)
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Must be able to obtain and maintain a TWIC card
Associate or bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience
Preferred
Hands-on experience with Cradlepoint or Ubiquiti hardware preferred
