Senior Satellite System Integration and Test Engineer

Responsibilities

Review the satellite functional specification and develop the test plan to verify and validate the requirements
Design and build automated testing systems, tooling and/or ground support equipment (GSE) to optimize production and test workflow
Execute and validate test documentation and equipment, then train others to run validated procedures/equipment
Troubleshoot issues with hardware and/or equipment, collect and analyze test data, and write/review test reports, flags/non-conformances and other documentation, as required
Demonstrated ability to participate in cross-functional planning, coordination, and task execution situations involving the full spectrum of engineering and integration activities
Support system architecture trade studies and requirements development to meet mission needs
Revise the satellite functional specification for new mission and customer needs
Generate system architecture data products, including spacecraft CONOPS, algorithm descriptions, and interface documents

Required

Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technical, Engineering, Math) or related scientific areas
9 years of aerospace experience, including 5+ years' experience in satellite operation and SEIT (System Engineering, Integration and Testing) on spacecraft
Experience with common Systems Engineering and Test tools (DOORS, CCS5, JIRA)
Familiar with satellite operation, and any subsystem engineering (Guidance, Navigation, Control, Power system, Data Handling, and Software)
Familiar with product and quality assurance principles and experienced in generation and disposition of test flags and non-conformance documentation
Experience with object oriented programming (C, C++) and scripting languages (TCL, Python)
Ability to read and interpret engineering documentation (e.g., electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, CAD models, wire lists)
Experience with the full Space mission lifecycle, including requirements development, design, manufacturing, test, and mission operations
US Citizenship is required
Ability to obtain and maintain a Government security clearance
Periodic travel (less than 20%) to Airbus U.S. facilities or partner companies
Occasional International travel to collaborate with European Airbus counterparts
