Senior Health Program Coordinator

Responsibilities
Supervises, assigns, reviews, and participates in the work of staff responsible for contracted and/or county operated health programs and services
Ensures work quality and adherence to established policies and procedures
Performs the most technical and complex tasks relative to the assigned area of responsibility
Select, supervise, train, and evaluate staff, and/or preceptors
Plan, coordinate, assign, and review the work of subordinate staff
Investigate and resolve disciplinary issues
Work independently, prioritize work, coordinate activities and meet critical deadlines
Monitor and interpret budgets and other financial documents
Develop and maintain cooperative, effective working relationships with others
Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
Interpret and apply applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations
Apply customer service skills, including the identification of customer needs and follow up to ensure customer commitments have been met
Collect and compile a variety of data and information
Maintain accurate records and files
Represent the department and/or the County of Sacramento
Analyze and evaluate data and information, and make appropriate recommendations
Qualification
Required
Five (5) years of full-time professional paid journey-level experience in a relevant health field, which has included program coordination, or lead, or supervision of program staff or operations
Completion of coursework in health care administration, a public health field, a health science, nursing or any nursing specialty, or in a related health field such as life sciences or physical sciences, or in a management field such as public administration or business administration or other field closely related to the intent of the class at an accredited college or university may be substituted for up to two years of the required experience
If the word 'experience' is referenced in the minimum qualifications, it means full-time paid experience unless the minimum qualification states that volunteer experience is acceptable
If the minimum qualifications include an educational or certificate/license requirement, applicants must submit proof of requirements with the application
Some positions may require a Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field, or licensure based on their assignment
The incumbent of the position designated as the Director of Public Health Education must hold a Master's degree with specialization in public or community health education and must meet any other state requirements for a director of health education
Some positions in these classes who oversee Behavioral Health Services may be required to, in accordance with applicable federal and/or state regulations, possess and maintain a current valid LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy); or LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker)
Criminal History and Background Checks: The County may access criminal history information on candidates who have accepted a conditional offer of appointment for this class consistent with the provisions of Board of Supervisors Resolution No. 82-602, Personnel Policies, and applicable federal and state laws
The County shall not consider for employment any candidate who has been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor that relates to or impacts the candidate's ability to perform the job duties of this class unless it is determined that mitigating circumstances exist
For purposes of accessing criminal history information, the candidate will be fingerprinted
A subsequent arrest notification may be obtained
Some positions in this class require the incumbents to be able to: Sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk
Normal manual dexterity and eye hand coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication
Use of audio-visual equipment; use of office equipment including computers, telephones, calculators, copiers, and FAX
Some positions in this class require the incumbents to: Work weekends, holidays, and non-routine hours
Work is typically performed in an indoor office environment and controlled temperature conditions
Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation
Position may require travel to and from other locations in a variety of outdoor weather conditions and lifting materials and supplies of moderate weight
