Responsibilities
Develops and implement policies
Ensures sufficient security safeguards to prevent unauthorized data access
Evaluates all directives, change orders, and projects as to their impact on systems as to cost and efficiency
Maintains sufficient control procedures and ensure complete and accurate data
Develops and implements new subsystems, procedures, and techniques
Management duties include hiring, training, coaching, counseling, and evaluating performance of direct reports
Collaborates with analytics business partners to determine data needs and corresponding strategies to ensure data completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and security
Evaluates and champions possible enhancements to data services and underlying environments
Oversees issue resolution efforts around process failures, performance degradation, and potential data gaps
Addresses risks and implements contingency plans
Partners with business, architecture, and infrastructure teams to develop service level agreements to ensure consistency and customer satisfaction
Mentors direct reports and other junior developers on coding standards
Aligns new and existing data/information services to evolving current state business processes, ensuring that all included business logic is accurate and up to date
Supervises others on developing data/information services for usability, reliability, and scalability requirements
Provides guidance on vendor/software evaluations and provides strategic direction based on those evaluations
Qualification
Required
BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study
Minimum of 5 years of related experience
Ability to manage the delivery of information technology services, including telecommunications, networks, or databases
Experience in developing and implementing policies
Ability to ensure sufficient security safeguards to prevent unauthorized data access
Experience in evaluating directives, change orders, and projects for their impact on systems regarding cost and efficiency
Ability to maintain sufficient control procedures and ensure complete and accurate data
Experience in developing and implementing new subsystems, procedures, and techniques
Management duties including hiring, training, coaching, counseling, and evaluating performance of direct reports
Ability to collaborate with analytics business partners to determine data needs and corresponding strategies
Experience in evaluating and championing possible enhancements to data services and underlying environments
Ability to oversee issue resolution efforts around process failures, performance degradation, and potential data gaps
Experience in addressing risks and implementing contingency plans
Ability to partner with business, architecture, and infrastructure teams to develop service level agreements
Experience in mentoring direct reports and other junior developers on coding standards
Ability to align new and existing data/information services to evolving current state business processes
Experience in supervising others on developing data/information services for usability, reliability, and scalability requirements
Ability to provide guidance on vendor/software evaluations and provide strategic direction based on those evaluations
Preferred
Experience leading people, small projects, and providing troubleshooting support
Multi database and/or multi language experience
Experience presenting technical subject matters to non-technical audiences
Experience in the design, building, and maintenance of databases, data models, data services, etc
Ability to learn and document new skills and subject matter
Ability to toggle effectively between multiple concurrent projects
Experience with Snowflake, SQL Server, Amazon Redshift, or PostgreSQL databases
Experience with ETL methods such as SQL Server Integration Services, Python data-movement scripts, Alteryx, Talend, or equivalent
Experience in the optimization of SQL queries for increased performance and decreased server-load
Proficient in presenting team's work in various forums
Familiarity with operations (pharmacy, contact center, manufacturing, print or digital communications, etc.)
