ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT INSPECTOR

Responsibilities

You will perform analytical, comprehensive, or diagnostic inspections of electrical components associated with Production Machinery such as lathes, milling machines, pipe benders, planers, rubber mills, electric ovens, boring mills, and press brakes
You will determine what work is required to maintain the equipment in proper operating condition, or make repairs to restore equipment to proper condition
You will complete inspection reports containing recommendations for repairs and list of replacement parts
You will perform minor preventive maintenance such as replacing fuses, tightening screws, cleaning contacts

Required

Must be a US Citizen
Must be determined suitable for federal employment
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program
New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty
Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present
You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites
Ability to use various electrical measuring equipment including but not limited to volt meters, ampere meters, megohmeters, multimeters, noise and vibration analyzers and tachometers
Must have a thorough background in electrical skills, electrical theory, and machinery controlled and driven electrical equipment
Familiar with the proper types, application and quantities of lubricant for electric motors, starter switches, transformers, dash pots, etc
Using electrician tools to perform maintenance functions such as tightening screws, cleaning contacts, changing fuses and brushes, making adjustments, etc
Reading and interpreting complex electrical drawings and technical manuals
