Responsibilities
Develop and maintain technical documentation including system manuals, user guides, procedures, training materials, and compliance artifacts
Translate complex engineering, cybersecurity, and system concepts into clear, concise, and accurate content
Ensure documentation aligns with FAA standards, federal regulations, and program requirements
Participate in documentation reviews and audits to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance
Collaborate with engineers and program teams to gather requirements and validate technical content
Ensure all deliverables meet Section 508 accessibility and FAA branding guidelines
Manage documentation schedules and deliverables across multiple workstreams
Prepare documentation status updates and readiness materials for program stakeholders
Apply industry best practices, tools, and templates to continuously improve documentation quality
Qualification
Required
U.S. Citizenship Required
Must have the ability to obtain / maintain a Public Trust clearance
Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience; or Masters degree and 3 years; or Associate's degree and 7 years experience; or HS diploma/equivalent and 9 years experience
Experience producing technical documentation in engineering, IT, or systems-focused environments
Demonstrated experience developing technical manuals, user guides, procedures, and compliance documentation
Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and accurate content for diverse audiences
Familiarity with documentation standards, style guides, and content management practices
Experience ensuring documentation compliance with federal requirements, contractual standards, or regulated environments
Working knowledge of Section 508 accessibility requirements
Preferred
Direct FAA or NAS configuration management experience
Familiarity with FAA modernization initiatives, NextGen, or National Airspace System (NAS) environments
Experience documenting complex systems, including infrastructure, cybersecurity, or software-intensive programs
Knowledge of NIST frameworks, cybersecurity documentation, or system certification processes
Experience using documentation tools such as MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, Confluence, SharePoint, or XML-based authoring tools
Exposure to agile or DevSecOps environments
Experience supporting audits, readiness reviews, or compliance documentation
Professional certifications such as Certified Technical Communicator (CTC) or equivalent credentials
