Responsibilities
Create and refine packaging solutions for beauty products, ensuring functionality, aesthetics, and quality
Research and recommend materials that meet product, brand, and compliance requirements
Conduct packaging trials and quality control checks to ensure integrity and compliance with standards
Partner with product development, marketing, inventory, and supply chain teams to align packaging with brand identity and operational needs
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of packaging regulations and ensure all solutions meet mandatory compliance standards at state, national, and global levels
Manage collection and reporting of packaging data with external partners to support regulatory initiatives, including EPR reporting and sustainability as required
Work with vendors to source materials and manage technical requirements, ensuring compliance and supporting sustainability as needed
Lead packaging initiatives from concept through commercialization, including timelines, budgets, and cross-functional coordination
Oversee hands-on sample review and quality control processes with the operations team
Collaborate closely with inventory and key partners to ensure packaging supports business operations and continuous improvement
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
5-7 years of experience in packaging development in beauty or personal care
Hands on experience with compliance, quality control, and packaging data reporting
Located in greater Chicago area
Preferred
Sustainability experience is a plus
