They are seeking a Mainframe Programmer/Mainframe Consultant to support the development and enhancement of business functions for the Government of South Carolina, requiring expertise in Microfocus Visual COBOL and experience with various database systems.

Responsibilities

Support development of new business functions and troubleshooting, modification, and enhancement of existing functions in the environment within the existing SCDMV application framework
Work closely and will be involved with both the UI tiers which are MS .NET applications (VB.NET, C#.NET) and the database tiers in both SQL and Oracle
Production troubleshooting support will be expected so some level of production support experience is required
Work with minimal supervision, will be in direct contact with business area specialists, develop technical approaches and designs, code, test, and support these functions

Required

8+ Years of Development with MICROFOCUS Visual COBOL in Windows Server 2019/2022, batch and under IIS
4+ Years Experience with Visual Studio 2019/2022 including the ability to use the debugger
4+ Years of Application programming against RDBMS(Oracle, SQL)
Bachelor s degree in IT, OR related discipline with 8 years of experience or minimum 10 years related experience without degree

Preferred

Experience with Visual Studio 2019/2022 Version 7 and higher
Ability to write complex queries using SQL for Oracle and MS SQL DB
IIS Configuration/Setup
Skilled in C# and .NET
Microsoft Certification please indicate specific certificate on resume
