San Gorgonio Pass Water Agency is seeking an experienced Water System Operator II to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the Agency’s water distribution, pumping, and recharge facilities. This role involves performing independent fieldwork, coordinating operations, maintenance, and emergency response, while contributing to major modernization and system upgrade projects.

Responsibilities

Operates, inspects, maintains, and repairs water distribution, pumping, and recharge facilities
Performs preventative maintenance
Monitors and responds to SCADA systems
Conducts leak investigations
Performs water quality sampling
Maintains accurate recordkeeping
Coordinates Underground Service Alerts
Responds to emergencies in support of safe and compliant system operations

Required

High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience performing duties similar to a Water System Operator I within a water distribution system
Valid California Class “C” Driver's License
Possession of a valid D1 Water Distribution Operator certification
Ability to obtain D2 certification within one year of appointment
