Responsibilities
Build, monitor, and maintain large scale, highly resilient systems that enable customers to access communications services via satellite
Contribute to distributed systems, architecture design, and cloud infrastructure for critical customer-facing Apple services
Build and run an Apple service enabling platform that millions of customers may rely on every day
Build and run the infrastructure that powers those services with emphasis on build, not just operate or implement
Help scale Apple’s services for customers around the world
Qualification
Required
Deep understanding of observability
Strong familiarity with different monitoring and alerting platforms like prometheus, splunk, grafana, alertmanager
Experience building and operating multi-clustered and highly-available services
Proven experience building and optimizing real-time and batch data processing pipelines using technologies such as Kafka, Spark, Flink, Beam, etc
Core Kubernetes concepts
Experience with modern web-scale services including servers, VIPs, load balancers, proxies
Strong understanding of Linux internals
Experience with CI/CD systems
Experience with GitOps workflows
Infrastructure As Code (Pulumi, Terraform, etc.)
Preferred
Experience supporting environments with thousands of servers and critical uptime requirements
Able to write software tools & services needed to build and operate a large scale platform
Proficient with Configuration Management systems (Puppet, Ansible, Salt, etc)
Understanding of zero-trust application architecture
Experience with IP network design and architecture; Cisco, Juniper, or Arista routing and switching hardware & configuration
Experience with AWS and/or GCP
Experience with OLAP databases (ClickHouse, DuckDB, etc.)
Experience with OpenTelemetry
Education: Technical engineering BS is a positive but not required
