Laboratory System Admin
Scalence L.L.C. is seeking a Laboratory System Admin to lead laboratory support for process and technology development laboratories in North Chicago, IL. The role involves collaborating with scientists and engineers to enhance efficiency through the implementation and maintenance of lab instrument workflows and troubleshooting technical issues.

Responsibilities
Support implementation and maintenance of laboratory data acquisition systems (e.g., Empower, Softmax Pro, TruScan), supporting product development initiatives
Integrate laboratory instruments (analytical and process equipment), automation platforms, and software applications to ensure seamless data transfer
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to system connectivity, instrument integration, and data flow
Work closely with stakeholders and vendors to define requirements and assure timely integration of new equipment software and workflows
Support documentation practices and maintain data integrity, especially for systems like Empower or other GMP data management platforms
Act as a liaison between business users, validation, and IT teams to ensure instrument inventory and data integrity
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree (4+ years of experience), Master's degree (2+ years of experience), or relevant alternate background with work experience in computer science, chemistry, life sciences, or related field
Experience supporting laboratory IT systems, laboratory instruments, and instrument workflows in a product development or scientific environment
Strong troubleshooting skills for technical issues related to system connectivity, instrument integration, and data flow between lab equipment and software
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to facilitate work in dynamic group and individual environments
Ability to implement, maintain, and integrate laboratory data acquisition systems (e.g., Empower, Softmax Pro, TruScan), including automation platforms to facilitate data transfer
Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders, and vendors to define requirements, assure timely software/equipment integration, and serve as a liaison between business users, validation, and IT teams
Willingness to quickly relocate and work onsite in North Chicago
Preferred
Candidates with experience with IDBS ELN, ThermoLIMS SampleManager, Empower, Nugenesis, or Ignition preferred
Experience with laboratory instrument automation projects and GMP/GLP environments considered a plus
