Black Student Success Program Coordinator
Oregon State University is seeking a Black Student Success Program Coordinator to enhance the transition of secondary students to post-secondary institutions. The role involves overseeing college-readiness programming, training student mentors, and managing community engagement initiatives aimed at supporting Black students in the Portland Metro area.

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in education, ethnic studies, public policy, social work, public health, sociology or related discipline
Experience working with students with underserved backgrounds
Experience and success building and maintaining positive relationships with community partners and organizations, particularly with those that serve underserved communities
Demonstrated understanding of and action/commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice and the application of these concepts to advancing the goals of a public, land grant university to serve underrepresented and underserved communities
Demonstrated effectiveness working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders in a complex organizational environment to identify, achieve alignment around, and advance strategies for achieving strategic organizational objectives
Demonstrated success in advancing project progress and adapting to unforeseen challenges
Demonstrated success in working collaboratively with individuals and communities of diverse backgrounds
Experience supervising and supporting the development of staff
Strong demonstrated interpersonal communication and presentation skills across a variety of communication modalities
Preferred
Evidence establishing strong and positive connections and networks in diverse communities within the Portland Metro area
Understanding of educational systems and perspectives on youth and community development
Experience working with systems to track and assess engagement with individuals and communities over time
Experience working or collaborating with alumni associations and foundations to advance development and engagement goals
Understanding of the mission of land grant universities to provide equitable access to education
Understanding of the college admission process and financial aid
Experience with intercultural communication with Black audiences, including but not limited to bilingual-multilingual experience
