Responsibilities

Lead a team of engineers and technicians in developing and implementing advanced fabrication processes for custom components (e.g., sheet metal enclosures, structural frames, and other precision parts for AHUs, chillers, fans, and related systems)
Participate in and lead Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Fabrication workshops, partnering closely with design, product, and R&D engineers to optimize designs for manufacturability, material efficiency, reduced waste, and seamless integration into downstream assembly
Define and specify fabrication processes, capital equipment (e.g., CNC machines, laser cutters, presses, welding systems, robotic automation), tooling, fixtures, and technologies for new product introductions (NPI)
Design and optimize shop floor layouts, workflow, and material handling for efficient, safe, and lean fabrication operations, minimizing bottlenecks and supporting high-mix, low-volume custom production
Ensure fabrication processes meet the highest quality and precision standards by developing PFMEAs, control plans, process capability studies (Cp/Cpk), and validation protocols for critical components in mission-critical applications
Evaluate, select, and integrate advanced manufacturing technologies, including automation, robotics, Industry 4.0 digital tools (e.g., MES integration, real-time monitoring), and sustainable practices to enhance fabrication performance and reduce environmental impact
Lead the launch, validation, and handover of fabrication equipment and processes to production teams, including operator training, process qualification, and ramp-up support
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, continuous improvement (e.g., lean principles, Kaizen), safety, and sustainability within the fabrication and manufacturing engineering teams
