Facilities Technician
Delta Dental of Arkansas is seeking a Facilities Technician who is responsible for maintaining the safety, functionality, and appearance of the company’s facilities. The role involves performing maintenance and repairs, coordinating vendors, managing assets, and ensuring building systems are maintained to high standards while delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities
Perform intermediate-level diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repairs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, including hydronic HVAC with multiple redundant units
Maintain and troubleshoot building automation systems (BAS) and critical data center infrastructure
Conduct routine inspections of building systems, common areas, and grounds to identify issues
Complete general maintenance and handyman work such as minor carpentry, painting, fixture replacement, and equipment troubleshooting
Assist with small facility improvement projects, including planning and coordinating contractors
Coordinate vendor activities related to preventive maintenance and repairs
Review contractor work for quality, safety, and adherence to company standards
Maintain service records, inspection reports, and maintenance logs
Assist in prioritizing and scheduling small projects or repairs
Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance requests, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently
Support event setup, furniture moves, and workspace reconfigurations during busy periods
Perform light janitorial or groundskeeping tasks as needed to maintain a clean, safe environment
Maintain supply inventory, ensuring adequate stock of maintenance materials and safety equipment
Manage facility assets, tracking equipment, tools, and furnishings to ensure proper care, replacement, and lifecycle planning
Serve as primary on-site contact during after-hours incidents or emergencies in the absence of the Building Manager
Act as alternate Physical Security and Emergency Management Program Manager, assisting with the planning, implementation, and oversight of security and emergency preparedness programs
Support emergency drills, equipment readiness, and overall emergency response coordination
Assist with physical security systems, including access control, CCTV, and intrusion alarms, ensuring systems operate reliably and securely
Maintain a high standard of professional appearance, reliability, organization, and follow-through
Provide courteous, service-oriented interactions with employees, vendors, and visitors
Contribute to a safe, efficient, and welcoming workplace environment
Qualification
Required
Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
Ability to perform hands-on troubleshooting and intermediate repairs safely and effectively
Experience coordinating contractors and managing preventive maintenance tasks
Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills
Self-motivated, dependable, and able to prioritize work independently
5+ years of prior building maintenance, facility operations, and/or skilled trades experience
Ability to participate in occasional weekend or on-call work
Preferred
Experience maintaining building automation systems and/or data center infrastructure
