Electro-Mechanical Engineer (Automation Engineer Lead Analyst)

Responsibilities
Perform advanced maintenance and service on automated pharmacy equipment, applying strong electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic knowledge to keep systems operating at peak performance
Lead troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis for complex PLC‑driven electro‑mechanical systems, ensuring issues are resolved fully and preventing repeat failures
Improve equipment reliability by completing preventive, corrective, and emergency work orders and tracking performance through MAXIMO
Recommend and implement upgrades, modifications, and engineering improvements that enhance system performance, safety, or efficiency
Support equipment installations, expansions, and technology upgrades across the automation environment
Monitor equipment performance through routine inspections, rounds, and diagnostic tools to detect early signs of degradation
Analyze Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) trends and take action to increase system uptime
Document all maintenance activity within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS – MAXIMO) to ensure accurate reporting and continuous improvement
Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering, operations, and vendor teams to resolve issues and drive improvements
Train, mentor, and support team members as they build their own technical and troubleshooting skills
Participate in on‑call support for urgent facility needs
Qualification
Required
High school diploma
2+ years of experience in an industrial maintenance, automation, or electro-mechanical equipment environment
Experience troubleshooting PLC/computer-operated equipment, including I/O devices, sensors, and field components
Hands-on skill in repairing, adjusting, or tuning mechanical and pneumatic systems
Demonstrated ability to diagnose issues using electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic schematics
Experience using preventive and predictive maintenance methods
Ability to use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track work orders and equipment performance
Flexibility to work outside standard hours, including occasional weekends, based on operational needs
Ability to work the assigned shift: 2-week rotation: Week 1: Mon/Tues/Fri 5AM–5PM; Sat 5AM–3:30PM (46 hours); Week 2: Sun 5AM–3:30PM; Wed/Thurs 5AM–5PM (34 hours)
Preferred
Associate's degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Automation, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field
Prior experience in a high-volume production or pharmaceutical environment
Experience using advanced test equipment and precision tools to successfully repair electro-mechanical machinery
Experience supporting automation upgrades or equipment installations
Ability to travel occasionally to other facilities or vendor sites
