Responsibilities
Works on progressive stamping dies with a minimum amount of supervision
Repairs and maintains all tools, dies, fixtures and equipment as assigned
Setups and operates presses and equipment that dies are run in
Operates all Toolroom equipment proficiently and is capable of maintaining to a tolerance of ± .0001 to ± .001
Heat treat the various types of materials used in the Toolroom
Interprets die drawings and piece part drawings
Sketches component parts for a die or piece of equipment for machinists
Maintains a safe and clean work area
Adheres to all of the Mann+Hummel Management System policies, procedures, work instructions, and established safety rules
Maintains a safe and clean work area. (5s Standards)
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent
Completed a 2 year Technical School Training in Tool and Die or Machine Technology or equivalent experience
Strong understanding of how stamping dies are made as well as how they work
Has thorough knowledge of Toolroom procedures and equipment operation
Minimum of six (6) years experience in the trade
Demonstrated proficiency with measuring instruments
Proficient in shop math I.E.; trigonometry, geometry
Basic knowledge of computer operation and related software
Preferred
Completion of Certified Tool and Die apprentice program
