Transition Support Program Manager

Our Community Our Kids is seeking a Transition Support Program Manager responsible for the scheduling, safety, cleanliness maintenance, coordination, support, and oversight of OCOK Child Watch programs. The Program Manager ensures effective supervision and support for staff while meeting the needs of clients, and implements established personnel policies.

Responsibilities

Represent OCOK in the community in a professional, responsible and ethical manner
Work closely with other OCOK programs and departments to coordinate and facilitate placement for youth served
Establish a respectful relationship with program staff and persons served to help them gain skills and confidence
Work in collaboration and partnership with all program teams, in a friendly, compassionate, courteous, and positive manner at all times
Work as a team player and exhibit professional behavior and a positive attitude with youth, their families, the program, and other external partners that reflects positively on the Agency and is consistent with Agency policies and practices
Work independently while maintaining regular communication with the Director of Intake regarding status of Child Watch activities
The position is responsible for coordination with staff and contact with permanency specialist, parents, guardians, relatives, school personnel, therapists, case managers from other agencies, psychiatrists, law enforcement officials, other external youth and adults, and other community members
Will have discussions with staff about schedules, coordination with all staff serving shifts, outline of duties to be conducted during shifts, and review of documentation needed by shift staff. The position also involves oversight of the cleanliness, orderliness, and supplies of the home
Coordinate OCOK staff working in the Child Watch program
Continually assess the educational/training needs of staff and seek out training opportunities that will help to address those needs
Coordinate orientation for all new staff and ensure all staff receives training needed to successfully work with clients and assist them in meeting their goals
Ensure staff maintains required training by communicating needs with the Director of Intake and OCOK Training Department
Ensure the provision of 24/7/365 on-call support for the program and staff and actively participate in on-call duties as scheduled
Foster teamwork, and nurture a positive working environment by fostering engagement and retention through communication, feedback, positive performance, and recognition
Sets performance goals, provides ongoing feedback and coaching during child watch
Maintain an active presence at Child Watch, to ensure OCOK policies and client needs are being met, monitor service delivery and make recommendations for improving safety and trauma informed care
Ensure work time is utilized effectively to maximize productivity
Actively participate in supervision and communication with supervisor
Maintain high ethical standards which are outlined in the OCOK Child and Family Services policy and procedure manual and those that apply to individual licensure
Create and provide oversight of the program’s daily schedule to ensure it meets the needs of clients served
Oversee program staffing patterns and scheduling to ensure appropriate coverage
Ensure all safety plans and behavior management plans for clients are implemented and followed
Ensure facility is maintained in a manner that is clean, safe and meets agency expectations
Maintain compliance with OCOK policies and procedures at all times
Complete a minimum of weekly facility inspections, daily when on-site, and maintain cleanliness to ensure a safe and clean environment that meets OCOK standards
Monitor storage and administration of client medications and ensure that policies are followed
Plan, lead, and participate in collaborative staff meetings
Manage the CWOP belongings
Provides oversight of child watch staff by officing at the main child watch location. Provide drop in oversight at alternate sights
Define guidelines and rules for youth in the facility
Develop a list of appropriate recreational activities for staff to conduct with youth
Maintain cleanliness of facilities
Provide orientation of shift responsibilities and facility operations for staff providing supervision of youth in the facility
Manage all staff change transitions and oversee that all paperwork is completed accurately and timely
Manage medication storage and documentation
Manage all SIR’s with accuracy and timeliness
Manage other required documents or procedures
Provide on-call support for the program

Develop relationships and communicate effectively with team members. Permanency Staff, and other OCOK staff
Schedule and manage appropriate staffing for CWOP

Actively participate in supervision and communication with Intake Director
Maintain high ethical standards which are outlined in the ACH Child and Family Services policy and procedure manual
Review and approve all child watch schedules
Complete all paperwork in a timely manner in accordance with State of Texas guidelines
Review, approve, report, and track all Incident Reports completed by child watch staff
Regularly review and approve program documentation to ensure quality as well as compliance with OCOK standards
Submit all maintenance requests
Continually assess the continuing education needs of child watch staff and staff’s application of policy and procedures
Provide ongoing evaluation and development/continuous programmatic improvements as needed to meet the needs of the service population
Monitor client data entered in electronic systems for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with program requirements monthly
Assist in development of program related improvement processes and evaluation

Required

Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field and four or more years of relevant experience or Master's degree in Human Services or related field with two years of relevant experience required
One year of experience in a licensed residential program, child placing agency or treatment setting working with children, youth and/or families
One year of supervisory experience required
Understanding of trauma informed care principles required
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft software and the ability to learn databases as needed
Valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of establishing Texas residency
Acceptable driving record

Preferred

Current Licensed Child Care Administrator license
Training and experience in Trust Based Relational Intervention
Licensed Child Care Administrator
