Operationalize the vision for covering news in Prince George's County by emphasizing impactful enterprise reporting, urgent breaking news and must-have service journalism
Consistently articulate coverage priorities and how they align with newsroom goals for growing audiences and producing journalism that matters to people in Prince George's County
Initiate and organize coverage on critical topics with creativity and precision
Ensure that employees are managed with respect and kindness, and play a key role in helping to develop career pathways for successful employees
Greenlight, oversee and edit coverage from a team of reporters covering all aspects of life in Prince George's County

Required

A minimum of three years of experience managing and inspiring daily news reporters
Impeccable journalistic integrity, editorial judgement and text-editing skills
Demonstrated track record of overseeing and editing impactful stories
Experience with public speaking and leading community discussions
Modern understanding of digital journalism, including applicable metrics, off-platform strategies and audience-engagement techniques
Ability to manage several stories concurrently and communicate across multiple divisions while keeping senior management informed of any potential issues
Crystal clear communication skills, both oral and written
Demonstrated ability to consistently meet tight deadlines
Commitment and ability to contribute an equity lens to every aspect of people management and news coverage
Willingness to live in the Prince George's County region
